Lowes is doing fine with keeping sales up. Even with major purchases toping $500 fell 1% from 1 year earlier. improving from a 10% decline. In addition Lowes purchased $500 million or 21.9 million shares of stock during the quarter. If the people that say america and the economy is in trouble they should read a paper.

Police arresst Amputee in bombing attempt

I read that an amputee that was missing both legs was arrested thursday in a new york city train station and planted a bomb. The police were able to locate the bomb before detonation. The bomb was a bag of small exsplosives wraped in shotgun shells with bullets. This proved anyone is capable of commiting any violent act.

The U.S. have said that they wont pull everyone out of Iraq by the summer. Thier can be a few squads thhanging back.The troop level in Iraq is supposed to fall 50,000 by the end of August the rest are supposed to leave by the end of 2011. I say its time how can you fight anybody that fights like cowards hiding in thier caves also we have trained many of the people to take care of themselfs. Toyota says that they will be returning to the basics to prove everyone thier commitment and show everyone thier will to change. One way is that they have come up with a new "Smart Pedal" braking system that will cut engine power when the accelerator and brake pedals are both engaged. I personally think that peopel might think that this is a good idea but the smart compututer in the steering wheel they say is what is causing all these problems. I believe thier on the right track but I would say its a lityle to late for them.

New Jobless Claims rise 31,000

Rhe U.S. jobless survey says that the number of jobless people rose from 31,000 to 473,000 during the week of Feb. 13. The 31,000 increase increased largly reverses a 41,000 drop in the prior week that now have jobless concernes at a high rate. T o smooth violatility in the data, fell by 1,500 to 467,500 from the previous week's 469,000. Also claims drawn by workers for more than one week were unchanged at $4.6 million for the week of Feb 6. In a seperate gov. report thursday showed that U.S. wholesale prices accelerated higher than expected at 1.4% in Jan compared to december. Also the price of gasoline rose 11.5%. I guess things need to get worse before they get better.

Fed Surprises Markets with Bank-Rate Increase in Bank Loans

The Fedreal Reserve decided to raise the rate it charges banks for loans. Doing this the Fed action also gave a boost in the U.S. dollar even against the weak Euro. Which increased from $1.3518 to $1.3613. Also gold prices droped $11 to $ 1.112.70. The market is now at a 28% chance of increasing by the end of this year. I dont know what to think of this move

Tiger Woods is set to talk about his behaviorand disgusse his plansfor the future. The day after Thanksgiving when he was injured after crashing his Cadillac into a fire hydrant and a tree at 2:25 am . Tiger Woods has taken a three month break from golf also sponsors like AT&T, Proctor&Gamble and Louis Vuitton have seperated themselves from the golfer. U.S. to probe Toyota Corolla Streering reports

Toyota has said that they have put a halt on eight of the U.S. models. The news came as the company's president Akio Toyoda said he wouldn't be appearing at the U.S. hearing next week and will send a deputy. Also this problem has affected so Lexus models.They also expected that 70 to 80% of the cars will be fixed by the end of February after a recall of 437,000 vehicles were recalled. Sales class- Toyota takes another Hit as Prices Fall

Last week Toyota estimated the company will sell about 100,000 fewer vehicles vehicles because of sales hault and recalls. Toyota said that the lost of vehicles would be about 180 billion yen. That is somewere around 2.1 million dollars. An executive from Toyota Motor told the press that U.S. dealers are repairing 50,000 recalled cars a day. They also promised the sticky pedal would last a lifetime. Bob Carter general manager of Toyota told that already 220,000 U.S. vehicles as part of the global recall and production is at a hault by a faulty gas pedal. The latest progress came tuesday when Toyota recalled more than 400,000 of the prius and hybrid models. I have to say their screwed !!!

The administration wants $10 million dollars to supply more nutritous foods at schools. New York says that home morgage rates rose this week on an average on 30 year fixed rate back above 5% according to Fredie Mac's survey of morgage loans. Also morgage applications for home purchases jumped 10 % . After reading this I dont know how people are supposed to find housing in this economy while housing is going up and the economy is consistantly dropping.

I think this is the DUMBEST idea ever I mean astronauts contributed a major part to Astronomy. I can not believe we gave this guy a freakin Nobel Peace prize !!!!!!!
