New Jobless Claims rise 31,000

Rhe U.S. jobless survey says that the number of jobless people rose from 31,000 to 473,000 during the week of Feb. 13. The 31,000 increase increased largly reverses a 41,000 drop in the prior week that now have jobless concernes at a high rate. T o smooth violatility in the data, fell by 1,500 to 467,500 from the previous week's 469,000. Also claims drawn by workers for more than one week were unchanged at $4.6 million for the week of Feb 6. In a seperate gov. report thursday showed that U.S. wholesale prices accelerated higher than expected at 1.4% in Jan compared to december. Also the price of gasoline rose 11.5%. I guess things need to get worse before they get better.
